Eat Right, Your Way, Every Day

Many of us think about nutrition daily, hourly, or not at all.

At Chloe's SFFC, we are always thinking of ways to marry nutrition, fun and flavor.

Its National Nutrition Month and that got us thinking about the sentiment: 

"Eat Right, Your Way, Every Day"  

"Eat right" is one thing, but what makes this mantra interesting is- "your way."

You have to eat right for you. What is realistic and fun for you? 

Developing a plan for eating right and sticking to it is intimidating. 

Not to be negative, but what helps me, is thinking about the ways NOT to eat?

  • Standing and eating- this approach is so much easier and it just happens before I realize I am doing it! 

  • Eating off others plates- why does it always look better on someone else's plate?

  • Waiting too long in between meals- total recipe for disaster

In creating this DO NOT do list (I love me a list) - I feel like I have a place to begin to make positive changes and move toward "eating right, my way, every day." I am pretty good about eating healthy but the how I eat needs some work -see above. 

To finish off nutrition month and in the months ahead, I am going to: 1) sit down while eating, ahh sounds lovely;

 2) keep my fork to myself, Jason and the kids will be relieved; and 3) focus on planning meals, reserving fasting for the appropriate occasions.

International Day of Awesomeness

Today, all across the world, people are acknowledging what it means to be AWESOME  in honor of the International Day of Awesomeness.
It's fun to kick back and ponder- what is totally awesome?
Watching my daughter buzz around on stage as windy bee in her first school play- crazy awesome; seeing my husband run his first marathon- really awesome; a swim in the ocean - awesome; a nap? Now THAT would be awesome.
At Chloe's™ Soft Serve Fruit Co.™ we aim for awesome  every day. Fruit is at the heart of our endeavor. It is our muse.
Fruit is an awesome part of a healthy diet and we love its endless variety of textures, sizes, shapes, and of course, powerful flavors. We also love the natural beauty in the kaleidoscope of colors and find inspiration from it. Here are just a few awesome examples of fruit.

Breakfast: Eat it!

The Soft Serve Fruit Co. is now serving BREAKFAST!! 

There are so many reasons to eat breakfast. Many of us still hear our mothers nagging us about the "most important meal of the day." We rebel by pounding a cup of coffee on the way to work, eating a donut in the conference room or settling for one of the many "healthy" fruit bar options out of a box.

But it turns out our mothers were right, we should be eating breakfast! However, now more than ever, it is important to fuel your day with healthy options that boost your metabolism, deter you from over-snacking during the day and give you powerful antioxidants, fiber, and flavonoids! Our new breakfast menu does just that!

Breakfast refers to "breaking the fast" of the night before but in our jumbled world has come to mean a lot of different things. To us, breakfast means; A healthful meal that offers recovery after a morning workout to jumpstart you for the day ahead; or just an enjoyable way to, first thing in the morning, pack in and provide yourself with delicious recommended servings of Fiber, Vitamin C,  and so much more cheer!

I wonder what they would have to say about the '80s classic movie "The Breakfast Club". OUR breakfast club is healthy and delicious, minus the '80's style and teen angst. Only healthy ingredients and joyful eating are allowed in the clubhouse!
